Yes—in the careful sense that Korean Saju and Chinese BaZi share the Four Pillars, stems and branches, Five Elements, Day Master, Ten Gods, and Luck Pillars. They are not interchangeable labels for every interpretation, however. Korean schools developed their own vocabulary, emphases, and practitioner conventions.
Birth timing is mapped to year, month, day, and hour pillars using stems, branches, and solar-term boundaries.
Mingora leads with clear English and preserves familiar Korean script such as 일간, 오행, 십신, and 대운 where it adds cultural context.
Saju schools use different conventions. Mingora follows mainstream Four Pillars rules, using true solar time and midnight day changes.
Mingora presents the chart as a lens for reflection on personal patterns, strengths, relationships, and timing. It does not guarantee events or replace medical, legal, financial, or mental health advice. You can calculate the chart first and decide whether a deeper plain-English reading is useful to you.
FAQ
A Saju calculator turns your birth date, time, and place into the Four Pillars and Eight Characters (사주팔자): year, month, day, and hour pillars. Each pillar pairs a Heavenly Stem with an Earthly Branch.
Yes. This free Saju calculation shows your Four Pillars, Day Master (일간), true solar time when available, and Five Elements (오행) balance. A deeper interpretation is optional.
It uses the shared Four Pillars foundation known as BaZi in Chinese and Saju in Korean. The stems, branches, Five Elements, Day Master, Ten Gods, and Luck Pillars come from the same wider tradition, while terminology, emphasis, and some calculation conventions vary by school.
The Day Master is 일간, the Five Elements are 오행, the Ten Gods relationship system is 십신, and ten-year Luck Pillars are 대운. Mingora places the English explanation first and preserves the Korean script where it adds cultural context.
Birth time sets the Hour Pillar and improves timing detail. If it is unknown, Mingora can still calculate the year, month, and day pillars, but it will show the Hour Pillar as unavailable rather than inventing it.
You can enter an ordinary Gregorian birth date. Four Pillars calculations use solar-term boundaries (절기) internally, so you do not need to convert your birthday to a lunar date first.
Differences may come from historical timezone data, true solar time, solar-term boundaries, the day-change rule, or a practitioner's school. Mingora shows its location-aware timing and does not claim that every Korean Saju school uses one identical convention.
Yes. Mingora leads with clear English explanations and keeps Korean terms such as 일간, 오행, 십신, and 대운 alongside them for context. You do not need to read Korean or already know traditional Saju terminology.
